Halfway mark! With a little Rangers and crawfish to go with it!

How far along: 20 weeks
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — about the size of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery). www.babycenter.com
Total Weight Gain: Still sitting at about 12 pounds, but the weight is definitely starting to be distributed differently.  Pants have started to dig in like crazy.

Maternity Clothes: See above!  The rubber band trick around my pant buttons and the belly band are rather convenient right now!

Stretch Marks: still good

Sleep: It's probably just because it's the last week of school, but I have been exceptionally tired this week.  The mornings are getting more and more exhausting! Ready to sleep away the summer.  (joke)

Best moment of this week: Well...besides the fact that we found out the gender of our little banana, this has been a pretty fabulous week!  Thanks to Landon and Whitney, Mike and I were able to go the Ranger's game Friday night--> Thanks again Miss Jennifer Beall!!  This time, I was able to see a MUCH better game- Ranger win!
Beall's amazing seats- only way to watch a game!

Saturday night, we had a crawfish boil (LOVE CRAWFISH) for Mike's cousin, Kristy's graduation.  Grace had a blast--she definitely wore me out!  The crawfish were amazing--super spicy, just the way I like them! ...with corn, potatoes, & deer sausage. (Wow, my whole mouth just filled with saliva!)  To my surprise, Grace was totally interested in the live crawfish.  She's even braver than I am!  She liked to look at them, pet one, and even held one!  However, when she was holding it, it kinda moved and I freaked me out-which naturally caused her to freak out.  Oops.

On Sunday, we were productive around the house!  We added to our flower beds in the front yard.  Bought a couple knock-out rose bushes and filled in some holes from where our other bushes died after foundation repair!  Looks much better!  All we really need to do now (at this point anyway) is add a rock border of some kind and get some hanging pots for in front of the porch!
Ignore the way too long grass and bald spots--we'll be cleaning that up this week.      Well, by 'we' I mean Mike. :)
And try to vision the rose bushes when they grow and blossom!

The rest of this week has been crazy busy-being the last week of school and all! Monday, we had our doctor appointment.  I went straight from the doctor to my volunteer work, and straight from volunteering to gymnastics with Lou.  Finally, at 8-after Grace went to bed- I could relax! Whew!  Every night this week seems to be just as busy-and we'll be busy prepping for our gender reveal dinner on Friday! Yay!

Miss Anything? I feel like I'm doing better this pregnancy at finding more creative ways to fill my caffeine void- so that helps!  I miss some of my (few) cute clothes that I can no longer fit in!

Movement: This little thing moves a lot.  It also likes to kick my bladder A LOT.  Love that.  Mike has now felt it move a couple times. :)

Food Craving: nothing new

Anything making you queasy or sick?  I had a piece of cake yesterday at school and it made me crazy nauseous.. kinda random.  It's not like I haven't had plenty of cake or anything?

Gender Prediction: I'll never tell..until Friday that is! ;)

Labor Signs: nope

Symptoms: Well, some exciting news! On Monday, the doctor told me that at my last appointment my blood platelet count had gone all the way down to 118, which is crazy close to not being able to get an epidural.  BUT--after giving blood on Monday, the doctor's office called me and told me that my platelet count had actually gone up to 153, which is awesome! This is the first time this pregnancy that my platelet count has been in the 'normal' range above 140. Good sign I hope!

Belly button in or out? Out.  (insert crying face)  I know it happens eventually, but it didn't happen until much later during the first pregnancy- and there's just something unattractive about a mushy, discolored belly button poking out of my stomach.  Oh well.  Could definitely be worse.

Wedding rings on or off?  wedding band only--thinking about just leaving it on permanently.  It's the getting on and off part that's difficult.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!!  At this point, I'm only 12 hours away from being on summer vay-cay (that's right-we're counting in hours now)!  I'm more than ready to begin my summer project of organizing the ENTIRE house!  I've been pinning ideas on Pinterest like crazy.  Mike and I are really starting to feel the anxiety creeping in about closet and storage space, so there will be some major purging as well as some storage projects in closet space!  Get ready for some before and after pics!

Looking forward to: summa summa summa time!  gender reveal party! family time! road trippin'! sayin' farewell to some of these students<-- just sayin! :) more Rangers baseball! workout clothes -like- everyday!

JUST A LITTLE SOMETHIN' EXTRA

In addition to all her super-cute things she's doing right now, Grace has discovered that she loves all her 'bankets'. (blankets...if you couldn't crack that code)  We put her to bed with one, but she always winds up with about 5 every morning.  When she goes to bed with them at night, she always hugs them and goes, 'OOOHH.' (<--doesn't translate well)  Well, we found another way for her to play with her bankets-turn them into capes.  She thought that idea was amazing!  In the picture: Grace with her two current obsessions- her ball and banket!

Here's another picture of swimming!  We're working on moving along the pool with our hands- a good first step in swim lessons I hear!

You'll all hear from me shortly with updates about the GENDER REVEAL DINNER! whoo hoo! I know something you don't know. hehe.
